My hoarding principle: only hoard the necessary daily consumables
In recent years, it is very popular to cut off and minimalism, but I think cutting off and minimalism should be more of a state of mind, not really wanting to have nothing at home, the necessary stockpiling is still necessary. A reasonable stockpile of goods will bring convenience to life, in the sale when the focus on buying can also save a fortune. Learn to store well, but also will not bring much burden to the home. So I think there are two major benefits of stocking up, one is to save things, one is to save money.
My stockpiling principle is: only stock up on consumable items necessary for daily life.
This is my family’s hoarding list.
Clothes: a good list of seasonal change, focus on one purchase, straight to the target, buy never look again, so you can avoid the temptation to store online often and buy back unnecessary things. Of course, I am the principle of enough, never hoard more.
Cleaning supplies: toilet paper, napkins, toothpaste, laundry detergent, etc., when the discount to focus on buying, you can really save a lot of money, calculate the number and use time to avoid expiration, but also to avoid taking up too much space at home.
Food: rice, noodles, oil, dried goods at home will hoard a little, my family commonly used fungus, red dates, red beans, mixed grains. The oil, salt, soy sauce and vinegar will be used to buy one, each opened a bottle will buy back a bottle to keep, so as not to run out of stock one day and temporary supermarket.
Pet supplies: dog food and pee pads, really can not be broken a day, so we have to calculate the time and use the amount, buy in advance.
Medicine: Dad always take medicine, the original is almost finished when my mother reminded me to buy medicine, but sometimes my mother forgot to remind me will break the file, a few days no medicine to eat, then I buy each time the number of good on the phone record, enough to eat how long, when to buy again, and then set the memo on the phone and remind, to time to buy on time, effectively avoiding Dad’s medicine break. The family medicine box should also be reviewed in a timely manner, and expired drugs should be disposed of in a timely manner, and there should be a reserve of regular drugs to avoid not having time to go to the hospital when it is urgent, and going to the pharmacy to buy them will cost more money.
Initially I also experienced the situation of waste caused by greed for cheap to buy too much to use up, after a period of time to record the feeling, gradually understand the real needs of their families and the actual amount of use, not only to avoid hoarding more than the expiration of waste, but also to avoid the daily necessities out of order. So, hoarding should be planned, buy what you really need, do not buy a bunch of hoarded at home on a whim, no planning, both occupy space, but also may cause waste.
Items not only occupy the home space, but also rely on our precious time to return, in the limited space placed in a large number of useless items, but also a constant stream of hard work into the return of the non-essential items, which is not to make yourself a slave to the items?
Everyone wants to have a relaxed life, and relaxed means having enough money and enough free time. Reducing the number of unnecessary items you buy will save you a lot of money and reduce the amount of time you have to spend working and organizing, repairing, and maintaining your items to earn money back.
If you still want to hoard a lot of items in the future, you may want to see them all as a synonym for time, and translate their value into the time you have to pay to get them, you may be more prudent.
